Cut your food calories with diet meal plan using "silver cutlery"

HowtoBehealthypeople - We already know smaller plates make us eatless. Now scientists from Oxford University have revealed colour is also key. In a recent study, smaller, light-coloured spoons were found to make you perceive food as sweeter and denser than if you used big dark hued plastic cutlery. Usea white enamel teaspoon for dessert and you’ll eat away at your waistline rather than a second helping of tiramisu.

What is cutlery? Cutlery is any hand implement used in preparing, serving, and especially eating food in the Western culture. The city of Sheffield in England has been famous for the production of cutlery since the 17th century and a train - the Master Cutler - running from Sheffield to London was named after the industry.

Cutlery is more usually known as silverware or flatware in the United States, where cutlery usually means knives and related cutting instruments. Not to be different, the major items of cutlery in the Western world are the knife, fork and spoon. But in the recent times, hybrid versions of cutlery have been made combining the functionality of different eating implements, including the spork (spoon / fork), spife (spoon / knife), and knork (knife / fork) or the sporf which is all three.

Although the term silverware is used irrespective of the material composition of the utensils, the term tableware has come into use to avoid the implication that they are made of silver. But in the recent times, hybrid versions of cutlery have been made combining the functionality of different eating implements, including the spork (spoon / fork), spife (spoon / knife), and knork (knife / fork) or the sporf which is all three.

A "cutler" is a person who makes or sells cutlery. One of the famous cutler until now is Arthur Price, founder of Arthur Price of England, Master Cutlers & Silversmiths. He was born on 3 March 1865. He left school at the age of 14 and worked for various 'toy smith' companies in Birmingham to learn his craft.

In 1902, Arthur started started out on his own, in his shed at the bottom of his garden, making spoons and forks. Business grew and this led to his first small factory on Gem Street, Aston, Birmingham. The Company, then called A. Price & Co. Ltd, were the first to manufacture chromium plate spoons and forks, which was the forerunner of Stainless Steel.

Common lung problems symptoms

HowtoBehealthypeople - Imagine your lungs to be like two big sponges inside your chest, which expand when you breathe in (inhaling) and contract when you breathe out (exhaling). Air flows from your nose or your mouth through your throat (called the pharynx), voice box (known as larynx) and windpipe (or trachea) into your lungs, where the air gets into the lung tissue through branching tubes (called bronchi and bronchioles). The passages through which the air travels to your lungs are called respiratory tract or airways.

A thin lining covers your airways from the inside to help keep the air warm and moist. The most common problem affecting the respiratory tract is an inflammation of this lining caused by an infection such as a cold, but many conditions can affect your airways and lungs. Common symptoms include :

ilustration of common lung problems symptoms

Cough: Coughs can be acute (in other words, they come on suddenly and last no longer than three to four weeks) or chronic (ongoing).

Shortness of breath: Breathing difficulties may be due to respiratory problems, but can also be brought on by heart problems or other medical conditions.

Wheezing: Wheezing is the noise you make when you breathe through narrowed airways and is common in asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.  Smoking dramatically increases your risk of developing problems with your airways.

The lungs are part of a complex apparatus, expanding and relaxing thousands of times each day to bring in oxygen and expel carbon dioxide. Lung disease can result from problems in any part of this system.

Lung diseases are some of the most common medical conditions in the world. Tens of millions of people suffer from lung disease in the U.S. Smoking, infections, and genetics are responsible for most lung diseases.

How to get cheap health insurance plans for teenager and young adults

Goodtipsforhealthypeople - Whether a student or out of school, if you are a young adult or teenager needing an individual health insurance plan to make sure you get valuable health care. Young adults who do not have access to employer or parental health insurance coverage may have option to shop the state-based and federally facilitated exchanges known as the Health Insurance Marketplace.

For those who are not claimed as independents on their parents’ tax returns and have an income between 100 and 400 percent of the federal poverty level may be eligible premium tax credits. Furthermore, those who purchase a silver plan and earn up to 250 percent of FPL may qualify for additional cost-sharing subsidies.

affordable and cheap health insurance plan

Young adults who are employed full time, may have access to health insurance through their workplace. This is often a desirable route since employers typically pay a portion of premium costs. However, depending on one’s age and how much he or she pays for job-based health insurance coverage, they may have other options.

“A job-based health plan is considered ‘affordable’ if the employee’s share of premiums for the lowest cost self-only coverage that meets the minimum value standard is less than 9.5% of their family’s income.” If, by theses measures, workplace health insurance coverage is not affordable, young adults and others may be able to shop the Health Insurance Marketplace and qualify for subsidies based on income.

An other low cost choice for those younger than 30 can buy a catastrophic plan through the Health Insurance Marketplace. Catastrophic health insurance coverage means an individual pays a lower monthly premium and a higher deductible than he or she would with an individual major medical insurance plan. Benefits typically do not kick in until the deductible has been met; however, under the Affordable Care Act catastrophic plans include three primary care visits and certain preventive care benefits before the deductible has been met.

choosing cheap health insurance

But before you just blindly start checking out health insurance, it may pay you to take a moment and see what you can do to help lower the cost of your health insurance even further.

First, if your company offers group insurance you need to consider participating in it. Group insurance is almost always less expensive than individual health insurance.

Don't participate in extreme sports or drive a fancy and fast sports car. Having a career than is considered dangerous will also increase your monthly health insurance premium.

Don't smoke - If you smoke or use any tobacco products you are intentionally shortening your life and creating additional health problems for yourself, so you can expect to pay more for your health insurance. The amount of money you can save on health insurance if you don't smoke is significant. Think about it.

Being overweight is a serious problem and one of the most difficult for many people to solve. Part of your health insurance premium will be based on your Body Mass Index, or BMI, which is a fancy way of saying that overweight people pay more for health insurance. Losing even a little weight can often drop you into a lower BMI rating and that can save you hundreds of dollars per year on your health insurance premiums. Losing even a little weight can help.

If you can afford it, see if you can increase your copay. Your co-payment, or copay, is the percentage of your doctor visit charges that you pay out of your own pocket, and the percentage of your lab work and other medical expenses that you pay. Increasing your copay from 25% to 50% can dramatically decrease your monthly health insurance premiums. This is an especially good tactic for people who do not see their doctor on a regular basis.

Now you've got a good idea of what your options are when it comes to lowering your monthly health insurance bill, so get online and start comparing among the different insurance companies. The multitude of health insurance-comparison websites makes it relatively quick and easy to compare policies and prices.

Although you buy online you'll pay the same monthly premium for the same plan, like you buy from your local agent, or directly from the health insurance company, Because Health insurance premiums are filed with and regulated by your state's Department of Insurance. This means that you can choose cheap health insurance plan but still allowing you to create the perfect policy for your needs.

How to diagnose Your Health Problems

Health problems are part of life. The fact is that everyone gets ill sometimes though hopefully not too often and when you develop a medical symptom you need to decide what to do about it. For example, you may choose to see your pharmacist, consult your doctor, go to the nearest Accident & Emergency (A&E) department or, in the worst case, phone for an ambulance. You may even choose to do nothing at all.

Medical problems come in all shapes and sizes. Some are easy to recognise, simple or harmless, whereas others may not be so obvious, are complex, or even dangerous. Telling the difference between them can be quite tricky, and making a formal medical diagnosis is best left to the professionals.

self diagnosis in common health problems

So that you stay healthy and get the best available health advice and treatment when you fall ill, you need to be able to make sensible decisions about your health. Doing so can be tricky and occasionally a bit scary. Not surprisingly, you can feel out of your depth all too easily. Most people successfully make decisions about their healthcare just by using common sense, but instances do occur when you’re not quite sure what to do or your health problems develop gradually and you start to think about getting medical help.

These situations are where Diagnosing Your Health Symptoms can help. In the same way that you don’t have to be a professional mechanic or engineer to identify and deal with simple problems relating to your car or dishwasher, you don’t have to be a doctor to be able to recognise common or potentially serious health problems or to have the confidence to decide what to do about them. You do have to be a health professional, though, to deal with and treat a great many conditions, and so knowing when you can treat an illness yourself and when to seek medical advice is an essential skill.

How to Acquiring basic skills in self-diagnosis

When you’re in the right frame of mind, you can approach health problems in the same way that you tackle any other problem in your daily life, assessing your symptoms in the following way:

1. Ask questions: Asking yourself a number of questions relevant to your health problems can help you to narrow down the causes of your symptom and make an initial diagnosis. But more importantly, asking questions is really about prognosis that is, whether your health problem is more likely to be benign or serious, and what this fact means for your future health.

2. Check your body: Looking for physical signs can help you find out what may be going on. Looks at general physical pointers to illness, and how to spot them.

Whenever you develop a health problem, you automatically make a diagnosis yourself whether you know it or not. If you develop a headache, for example, you may decide to ignore it for a few days and see what happens, or take some simple painkillers to relieve your symptoms.

Workout at gym for improve your confidence

To seal that business deal, head to the gym instead of going for cofee. In a study from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, participants conducting a business meeting on a treadmill were better negotiators than those whose heart rates weren’t as elevated.

This is because endorphins, produced from exercise, cognitively reconfigure feelings of anxiety as feelings of excitement, while also boosting confidence. Take a fitness class for your next meeting instead of going for dinner. Wear a heart monitor to make sure your rate gets to 117bpm–the level that guarantees the best results. Now that’s what we call sweat working.

Singing everyday to improve your cardio performance

Just five minutes of crooning a day could improve your cardio performance, says a new study. It’s thought singing builds the muscles around your lungs to direct more of your body’s energy supplies to hard-working muscles.

Use your diaphragm (the part of your belly that domes when you lie on your back and shout). “Happy Birthday has enough range to work this muscle. Sing it twice daily to improve lung capacity,” says vocal coach CeCe Sammy. Just warn the neighbours.

Buying guide and planning to get cheap health insurance

Everybody at some time in their life, and often on many occasions, will need some kind of medical attention and treatment. When medical care is required, ideally the patient should be able to concentrate on getting better, rather than wondering whether he/she has got the resources to pay for all the bills. This view is becoming more commonly held in nearly all the developed nations. So this is the reason for this articles created, we can share the tips how to get good and cheap health insurance plans.

Health insurance is a type of insurance that assists with payment for medical expenses, whether through privately purchased insurance, social insurance or a social welfare program funded by the government. This category includes news on legislation and employer health schemes, HSAs, the uninsured and changes to health insurance policies.

In Cheap health insurance terminology, the "provider" is a clinic, hospital, doctor, laboratory, health care practitioner, or pharmacy. The "insured" is the owner of the health insurance policy; the person with the health insurance coverage.

In countries without universal health care coverage, such as the USA, health insurance is commonly included in employer benefit packages and seen as an employment perk.

Most people do not realize the importance of a good health insurance policy till they get stuck in circumstances where they need it the most. And some of you who do have one, the credit goes to your company’s group health insurance policy. Unfortunately, most people don’t know how to choose the right health insurance policy suiting their financial budget.

One of the most important things to consider while choosing a life insurance plan is to think of the needs that might arise in the future. If you have a family with ageing parents or are newly married and are planning to start a family in the near future, your bet has to be on the policies that will cover aged parents or possibly cover maternity costs.

A health insurance policy has a number of clauses – what could be called the ‘fine print’. Reading them well is very important. And if you do not understand them, do ask questions. For example: Read clauses related to the renewability of an insurance policy. This means that the policy will no longer hold good after a person attains a particular age. This could mean that you may not have a health insurance at the age of 70 or 75, when you need it the most. Here, choosing a policy that will cover you for life rather than one that will expire when you need it the most is adviceable.

If you have a pre-existing disease (for eg: diabetes), policies can be used only after a stipulated time period decided by the company. Also, if you are planning to start a family, ask the company about their maternity clause. Many companies do not cover costs of delivery or of any complications arising from that.

Read all that you can about the various options your health insurance company is providing you. Ask questions. Generally, if you have a family it is advisable to opt for a family floater plan. It is more economical and effective in the long run. Similarly choosing a cashless policy over a reimbursement type of policy may suit some but may not be beneficial to all.
